Fans wish ‘G.O.A.T’ Lionel Messi happy birthday following Copa America win

Barcelona and Argentina legend Lionel Messi is undoubtedly one of the best footballers of all time and all his achievements are enough proof for his greatness. The G.O.A.T celebrates his 32nd birthday on 24th June and fans on Twitter could not stop wishing the legend a happy birthday and a long life.

Check out some of the tweets below:

While most of the tweets involved fans calling him the “G.O.A.T” (Greatest of all time) and the “Best Footballer ever”, a few other tweets also celebrated his achievements.

Apart from being a world-class player, Messi is also one of the biggest achievers in the history of the game, having won 34 trophies with his team so far. He is only two trophies short of a world record currently held by Brazilian footballer Dani Alves. The Barcelona stalwart is also the only other player alongside arch-nemesis Cristiano Ronaldo to win five Ballon d’Or awards.

The 32-year-old joined Barcelona’s youth team 19 years ago at the turn of the millennium and has been a Barca player ever since. He made his senior debut for the La Liga side as a seventeen-year-old in 2005 and has since scored 603 goals for them from 683 appearances.

The 2018-19 season was not very kind to him as the Catalans won only the Spanish League title. Despite so, he managed to make 50 club appearances and finish his campaign with 51 goals and 22 assists.

Messi is currently in action for Argentina at the ongoing Copa America, where he has helped his side to get through to the knockouts, as per the latest updates.
